Hell hath frozen over. I was able to order decent sushi in Fort Payne, AL. After the initial shock subsided, the sushi far exceeded expectations. The salmon and yellowtail were firm and fresh. The sushi rice held together well and the shrimp tempera roll performed admirably in the Japanese comfort food role. Hopefully, the locals will keep them busy enough to stay afloat! Please see Albert, the sushi chef/owner, he is a scholar and a gentleman.

Toke. Some good. Some bad. Ate at Toke (THAT'S TOW-KEY not TOAK) today and not the first time. The soup and salad are about what you would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Salty water paired with lettuce and not thousand island. Whatever. I ate Pad Thai today. It was good. I've eaten sushi and off the hibachi there. The food is always good. Unfortunately it's not all perfect. Tall asian man. Why you no friendly? 2 guys wanted to split a roll and wanted it divided across their tickets. Why do you need to stare at them like they asked you to part the Red Sea? No one else acts inconvenienced. How about a drink refill? Why do we have to ask for chop sticks? Are they slowly bankrupting your business? What's it take for a man to get a fortune cookie? I don't care if that's a Chinese thing. Give me a fortune cookie. Anyway, the service is usually decent and the food is mostly good. This place is probably a 5 star for Fort Payne. I was tempted to go 3 here but kept it at a 4 because most visits go a little better than my last.

Friendly service and great food. I had the springs rolls and house soup. Followed by the massaman curry - which was delicious.

First time here, Saturday night, but it won't be the last. I was hungry but trying to eat healthy. Chicken soup was flavorful and just hot enough. The tuna "tataki?" was delicious! Fresh and perfectly seared. The calamari tempura was also just right. My friend had a Thai chicken dish I didn't get the name of, with wide rice noodles and vegetables. It was a huge portion and very tasty. Staff friendly and very attentive. Nice decor and lighting. Rock music a bit out of place, but not TOO loud. Prices good for the quantity and quality.

Shocked!!! Big city taste and atmosphere with reasonably priced food in a small town. I've eaten sushi all over the country, and Toke is as good as it gets. The place is immaculate. The music is fun. The staff is attentive as well as courteous.

Toke Ft. Payne opened just three days ago, so cut them some slack. The service was slow because they need more servers(they are still hiring). The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Toke won't be serving the Thai menu until next week, so we will be coming back to try that. We both had Thai Tea to drink, which was great. I had a small sake which I enjoyed (the owner gave me the sake complementary when my husband told her how excited I was to have lunch there). My husband had the chicken & shrimp hibachi. The vegetables were not over cooked, and the chicken and shrimp were spiced just right. We shared an appetizer of green mussels which were delicious. I had the Yummy Yummy roll, which was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The decor and atmosphere is top notch...like something from a larger city. We were greater warmly upon entering and the service was perfectly attentive. The soup and salad were both flavorful and brought out quickly. They also have a decent Japanese beer selection. No draft, of course, which is not good but not their fault. The sushi and hibachi were both plentiful and delicious. I would recommend to anyone in Ft. Payne!

We got take out. the decor was very Appealing. Rest room was nice and clean. Staff that assisted us was very nice. Pad Thai was good, like other pad Thai I have had. Spring roll was not cooked in hot enough oils causing somewhat doughy wrap. The Thai fried rice was not Thai. It was hibachi rice. Not very generous with the chicken or vegetables. I tasted not a hint of any Thai seasoning. There were no utensils nor duck sauce in the bag which made it difficult to eat in the hotel room. Would I return on my next trip through, probably not.

The decor and environment were quite and pleasant. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. The food itself is easily the best sushi sashimi that I've had within 150 miles radius. They took time in the preparation and presentation of the dishes. The price was insanely cheap considering the quality of the dishes. Easily one of the best experiences I've had in a while and Wil definitely do it again. Highly recommended. Wish I could give it 6 stars.

Because Fort Payne is such a small town, we were thrilled when Toke opened right down the road from us. The main course is always delicious, and the food is cheaper than what you would find at a comparable restaurant in a bigger city; however, Toke isn't perfect. The soup/salad is so-so, and many of the waiters are inattentive (but not you, guy with the pony tail! You are our fave!!). Another problem they seem to have is that they often mix up table orders and bills. It has happened to my husband and me several times. With all that being said, I still go to Toke regularly because I love Japanese food, and there aren't any other places in Fort Payne.

Excellent food and a welcome addition to the area. I only had the hibachi which was fantastic, the sushi looked heat too. The only thing I didn't care for was the salad, the ginger dressing was lacking. Prices very reasonable

Outstanding food, very friendly attentive staff! Guntersville roll was awesome! Manager offered free soki after dinner. Have been using Yelp to find restaurants while traveling for several years and this is the first review I have written because it was just that good!
